Swap your old fuse box for a modern switchboard with circuit breakers and safety switches. Safer for your family, ready for modern appliances.
Call 0449 726 007Many Adelaide homes still run on switchboards that were installed decades ago — ceramic fuses, no safety switches and not enough circuits for the way we use power today.
An old switchboard can mean fuses that keep blowing, tripping when the air con and oven run together, and no protection against electric shock. Safety switches (RCDs) cut the power in a fraction of a second if something goes wrong, and they are one of the most important safety devices in any home.
We replace old fuse boards with a modern switchboard, fitted with circuit breakers and safety switches, set up neatly and labelled clearly so you know exactly what each circuit does.
Rewireable fuses are outdated and offer far less protection than modern circuit breakers.
If your board has no RCDs, your family has no protection against electric shock.
Lights that dim or flicker when appliances turn on can point to an overloaded board.
Power that keeps cutting out is a sign your board is struggling with the load.
Heat, scorch marks or a burning smell near the board need urgent attention. Call us straight away.
New kitchens, air con, pools and extensions often need more circuits than an old board can handle.

“Chris completely rewired my home, replaced all the switches and power points, and upgraded my old fuse box to a modern switchboard. Everything was completed to a very high standard, and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding.”

Often, yes. Air conditioners, induction cooktops and other large appliances need their own circuits, and an older board may not have the space or capacity. We can check your board and tell you what is needed.
A safety switch (RCD) watches the current flowing through a circuit and cuts the power almost instantly if it detects a leak — for example, through a person. It is the single biggest safety upgrade for an older home.
It depends on the size of your home, how many circuits you need and the condition of the existing wiring. Call us or send an enquiry and we will give you a free, upfront quote.
